Fundamentals of English grammar

Grammar is the foundation of the English language. Learning basic grammar topics helps learners speak, read, and write correctly. Some important simple grammar topics include nouns, pronouns, simple present tense, articles, singular and plural forms, prepositions, and simple questions.

A noun is a word that names a person, place, or thing. For example, teacher is a person, school is a place, and book is a thing. Nouns help us identify what we are talking about in a sentence. Without nouns, it is difficult to express ideas clearly.

Pronouns are words used instead of nouns. Common pronouns include I, you, he, and she. For example, instead of saying “Randima is my friend. Randima is kind,” we can say, “Randima is my friend. She is kind.” Pronouns make sentences shorter and easier to understand.

The simple present tense is used to talk about daily activities, habits, and general facts. Examples include “I eat breakfast every day” and “She goes to school by bus.” This tense is very common in spoken and written English.

Articles are small words used before nouns. They include a, an, and the. We use a before words that start with a consonant sound, such as a pen, and an before words that start with a vowel sound, such as an apple. The article the is used for specific or known nouns.

Singular and plural forms show whether there is one or more than one. For example, 'cat' is singular, and 'cats' is plural. Usually, we add -s to make plural nouns. There are few ways to make plurals.

Prepositions show the position of a noun. Words like in, on, and under tell us where something is. For example, “The book is on the table.”Finally, simple questions help us ask for information. Examples include “What is this?” and “Where are you?” These questions are easy to use in daily conversations.

In conclusion, learning simple grammar topics helps learners communicate effectively and build strong language skills. It is very important to learn basic English grammar for slow learners and all the small kids.
